As processed food is generally not as healthy as home-made food for humans, so is the case with cats. Thus, for your own convenience and the better health of your cats, here are some fishy delights for your feline friends that they are surely going to love!

1. Kedgeree Recipe

Ingredients:

1/3 cups white rice

1 tbsp margarine or low-fat spread

3 oz. canned tuna or smoked mackerel (skinned and boned)

1/2 hard boiled egg (shelled and finely choped)

yolk of 1 egg

1/2 tbsp pouring cream

1/2 tomato (finely chopped)

Method:

First of all, boil the rice and drain the extra water once they have been cooked properly. Meanwhile, fry the chopped tomatoes in the margarine. Once they are soft, add in the fish and boiled egg and keep on stirring with a wooden spoon.

Once the fish has been nicely cooked, add the rice without turning the heat off. Mix in the rice and add the egg yolk. Blend it in well and then add cream. Stir for a minute or two and then take it out in a plate to cool.

The delicious Kedgeree is ready! Do let it cool before you serve it to your cat and be not surprised if it leaves the cat asking for more!

2. Kitty Fishballs Recipes

Ingredients:

3 baby carrots (cooked until soft)

16 oz canned tuna in olive oil (drained)

2 oz. cooked Herring (skinned)

2 tbsp whole grain bread crumbs or oatmeal

2-3 tbsp grated cheese

2 tsp Brewer’s yeast

a few pinches of chopped catnip

1 egg (beaten)

2 tbsp tomato paste (do not use ketchup!)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the ingredients and mash then into an even whole. Once the batter has an even consistency, make small balls out of it. Put these balls on a greased baking tray and leave it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Check from time to time and take them out once they are golden brown and firm. Cool before you serve this scrumptious dish to your cat.

3. Crispy Trout Dinner Recipe

Ingredients:

1 egg yolk

1 small trout (fillet)

3 tbsp oatmeal

1 tbsp vegetable oil

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Beat the egg in a bowl and dip the fish in. Then, take this fish and put it in oatmeal until the oatmeal has completely covered the fish fillet. Take a baking pan and pour the oil into it. Put the oatmeal-coated fish in this pan and turn it over a few times so that all sides are oiled. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes and then turn it over and bake it for another 15 minutes. Take it out and let itcool. Then, cut it into small pieces and serve them to your cat after they’ve properly cooled. If it looks too dry then you may as well add a little cream to make it all the more delightful for your cat.

4. Mackerel Magic

Ingredients:

1 cup cooked brown rice

2 tsp soy, worchestershire or fish sauce

1 fresh Mackerel (headed, tailed, cleaned and scaled)

Method:

Add the sauce to brown rice and mix it in well. Grill the fish until crispy brown and then leave it aside to cool. Once it has cooled, cut it open to take the bone out starting from the head, proceeding towards the tail. In this crevice add the rice and close it. A quick, delicious meal is ready for your cat!

5. Kitty Heaven (Sardines and Rice)

Ingredients:

2 cups flat cans of Sardines in oil

2/3 cup cooked rice

1 tbsp liver

1/4 cup parsley (chopped)

Method:

Cut the sardines into small pieces and mix them with the rest of the ingredients. Refrigerate the portion that you willl not be needing and make sure that it is tightly covered. Serve the rest to your cat! This is a quick, yummy recipe that your cat is bound to like!

6. Sardine Soup

Ingredients:

2 canned sardines

a pat of butter

1 cup water

a few stalks of watercress (shredded)

fish sauce (optional)

Method:

Put the butter and sardines into a pan. When you see the butter melting, start mashing the sardines into it. By the time the butter melts fully, add in water and heat until it comes to a boil. Add the shredded watercress and turn off the heat. Let it cool and then add a little fish sauce. Serve this delectable dish to your cat!

7. Kipper Supreme

Ingredients:

4 oz. cooked kipper

1 cup leftover cooked root vegetables

2 eggs

a little milk

1/2 cup grated cheese

Method:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Mix the fish and vegetable together and mash them. Put this mash in an oiled baking tray. Mix the eggs, milk and cheese in another bowl and pour it over the mixture. Put it in the oven for about 20 minutes or until it is firm from the outside while soft from the inside. Once it has completely baked, take it out and let it cool. Once cool, serve it to your cat and it’ll surely be licking its mouth.

8. Salmon Mouse Mousse

Ingredients:

4 oz. cooked salmon (skinned and boned)

1/2 cup skimmed milk

1 tbsp margarine (softened) or low fat spread (creamed)

1 drop red food coloring

several cooked, shelled shrimps

1/2 cup prepared gelatin

Method:

Mash the cooked salmon with milk or you can put both in a food processor until a creamy mixture is formed. Then, add margarine and stir until it completely mixes in and then add the red food color. Beat it until the mixture is stiff. Then pour it into a mould or a glass bowl so that it fills 3/4th of it. `Refrigerate it for 20 minutes and then set cooked shrimps on it. Pour heated gelatin on it so that it covers the shrimps completely. Let this set. Once it has set, pour another layer of gelatin and then leave it to cool for an hour. Once it has been cooled, turn the mousse out onto a plate and cut it according to the amount you want to give to your cat.

9. Oeuf Royale

Ingredient:

1 egg scrambled

1 tbsp milk

slivers of smoked salmon

Method:

Beat the egg with milk and fry it while continuously stirring. Then add slivers of smoked salmon and stir until cooked. Cool it and serve this simple, delicious dish to your cat.

10. Cat Fish Crackers

Ingredients:

6 ounces undrained tuna

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup floor

1/3 cup water

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and knead them with your hand. Then roll the dough until it is 1/4th of an inch. Cut this into smaller squares and place them on an oiled baking tray. Put them in the oven for 20 minutes. When you take them out they should be golden. Set them aside and let them cool before you give your cat a treat with these crunchy crackers!

11. Kitty Treats

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup floor

1/2 cup tuna oil, chicken or beef bouillon

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the ingredients and they will make a stiff dough. Take small portions and make round coookies that are 1/2 inch thick. Put these on a. oiled cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes until they are brown. Cool them and serve them to your kitty.

12. Tuna Pops (safe for diabetic cats)

Ingredients:

Spring water in tinned tuna

Method:

After using the tuna or even before, take the spring water in which it is dipped and freeze it in ice cube trays. Once frozen, give your cat a treat of a maximum of two of these at one time.

You can also use your tin again after using the tuna. Put the tin in an air tight jar and fill it with filtered water over-night. You can use this water for a second round of tuna pops!

13. Cat Tuna Treats

Ingredients:

1/2 cup whole wheat floor

1/2 cup non-fat, dry, powdered milk

1/2 can tuna in oil or 1/2 cup cooked chicken, chopped into small pieces

1 tbsp vegetable oil or cod liver oil

1 egg (beaten)

1/4 cup water

catnip (optional)

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mash the tuna in a bowl and then, add floor and milk. Mix it thoroughly and then pour water and oil in it. Mix again. Beat friskly an egg in a separate bowl and add it to the batter. This will make a gooey dough. Make marble-sized balls of this dough and put them on an oiled cookie sheet. Then flatten them and put them in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Take them out and after waiting for 5 minutes, turn them over carefully. Put them in the oven for another 10 minutes. Cool them for at least 15 minutes before serving them to your cat. You can add catnip in the dough and mix it well before baking or sprinkle some afterwards. This will make almost 60 cookies! You can refrigerate the rest in an air-tight jar.

14. Precious Kitty Treats

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz canned salmon with liquid

1 egg

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup instant oatmeal (blended)

Method:

Blend the fish and egg together in a food processor until the mixture is even. Then, further blend it after adding oatmeal. Pour the mixture in a greased baking tray of 9″x13″ and put it in the oven for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. After they have been baked, cool them and then cut them into smaller, bite-sized pieces and store the extra ones in the freezer. This will make around 24 pieces.

15. Cat Cookies

Ingredients:

7 oz mashed sardines

1/4 cup dry, non-fat milk

1/2 cup wheat germ

Method:

Mix all the ingredients well and make around 24 balls out of the dough. Put them on an oiled baking sheet and flatten them. You can do that with a spoon or a fork. Put them in the oven at 350 degrees and bake until they turn brown.

16. Kitty’s Kibble

Ingredients:

3 cups whole wheat flour

2 cups soy flour

1 cup wheat germ

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup non-fat, dry milk

1/2 cup brewer’s yeast

1 can (15 ounce) mackerel

5 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tbsp cod liver oil

2 cups of water or as needed

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a big bowl and mix in all the dry ingredients i.e. wheat floor, soy floor, wheat germ, cornmeal and dry milk. Take another bowl and mash the fish in it. Add oil and water in the fish and then add this into the large bowl containing the dry ingredients. This will make a stiff dough. Roll it out until the thickness is about 1/4th of an inch. Cut it into small squares preferably of 1/4th an inch per side. Put them on an oiled baking sheet and bake them for 25 minutes. Turn them from time to time while they are in the oven so that all sides brown equally. Once they turn brown evenly, take them out and let them cool. Refrigerate the cookies that are extra. They can be used for later. You can also freeze these cookies for long periods of time.
