Sioux Falls Humane cats society is calling on the people of the locality to adopt the feline friends since they are fast running out of space in their cat shelters. Ever year a lot more cats and kittens are brought to the shelters of the society and hence the cat population is fast exceeding the available space in the homes. Currently there are 188 of the feline residing in the SF Humane Society shelters. The society is hoping to use the current month Adopt a Cat Campaign to offload as many of the cats to the local residents as possible so that they have ample space for the new guests. According to Keloland site:
“It is really challenging because you see so many nice cats come though and we have limited space as far as that’s concerned. But we do keep them until they get adopted, so we pretty much have cats everywhere in our building at this point,†Executive Director Kori Baade said.
Every spring, the Sioux Falls Humane Society sees an increase in their cat population and this year is no different. Baade says they see so many felines because people bring in pregnant cats or batches of kittens.
“If you do find a cat that has kittens, maybe the mama has gone to find food. Just try not to touch those kittens until mommy comes back because that’s a lot of our problem too. We get a lot of kittens without mommies and it’s really hard because we have to bottle feed them,†Baade said.
The prices of the little feline friends have been dropped so that the rate of adoption increases. If you live in the close vicinity of the area, we would also encourage you to adopt our cute feline friends from the shelter and bring them to your home. The joy of having these playful friends is not what any one can explain easily. You can only experience it once you have it.
