Dear Cato,

I had a puppy who started vomiting one fine day. I took him to the vet and she diagnosed him with a stomach infection. I was giving him the prescribed medication, but then at night the poor puppy started vomiting bloody, dark thick blood. He vomited about 10 to 15 times. I took him to the Army hospital, where the compounders gave him antibiotics, fever reducer, and then finally IV fluids. However, as soon as he got off the IV fluids, he started vomiting again. Before the blood vomits, he was having white foamy vomits. The compounders told me to take him home… he died in the morning at 6:45am in my lap.
I never felt so helpless before… is there any hospital/vet clinic who could have taken him/admitted him and kept him all night, giving proper care?
How can I prevent this from happening again?

Thanks,
Adeel.

Dear Cato,

I have recently found an orphan kitten that I’m trying to raise. I have no prior experience with pets. Can you please tell me about stores in Lahore where I may be able to find milk replacers, cat food and other stuff for pets.

Thanks.

Dear Haroon,

Do keep in mind few things! Since u mentioned you got a kitten so go for kitten food and its available in all major stores in every city in Pakistan. When it comes to Lahore, you can find it in Al Fateh Store, Metro and even HyperStar. The brands you can easily find in Pakistan are Whiskas and Purina. However, if you can tell me the age of the kitten, we can further focus our discussion on the way you can provide best care to the baby.

And its a very noble thing that you have done so God bless you for it.

hello, i would wish to adopt a cat but to my asthma problems i am not sure which cat can you explain to me which might be best and can you check that if that cat might be up for adoption in Pakistan or a kitten(i prefer owning a kitten so i can train it )of my choice such as the Burmese or the singapura because i dont not like to buy from breeders as i think they might be bred in bad conditions and that animal rescue facilities may run out of space( if there are any available in Pakistan). i am only able to go to the facility if it is in Lahore, Islamabad or Rawalpindi . if there are no rescue facilities available than any breeder or pet shop that does not treat cats or kittens harshly

PS: your web site is amazing im going to tell all my friends and the only one who is still updating.

thank you for reading
